The components of the earth system, such as atmosphere, hydrosphere, forest, land, and ecology, are interlinked. Effectively using environmental information and analyzing the current state of the environment are essential to environmental management and nature conservation. Over the years, the Ministry of Environment(MOENV) has been dedicated to conducting research on environmental protection technology and formulating regulations regarding pollution prevention and control technology. The MOENV has accumulated tremendous knowledge and resources in environmental protection through the years. To integrate the resources collected from different business units, the Environmental Protection Project Achievement Warehouse Management System (EPAW) provides each unit a platform to register and upload project information, achievement reports, and environmental raw data. This system also stores the raw data of environmental impact assessments. All the project implementation results are stored and subsequently used for value-adding applications.

The six features of EPAW are as follows:

  • One-stop Process
The EPAW improves the standard workflow of existing MOENV project data collection, simplifying the cumbersome process of uploading project reports and raw data to different platforms, providing a one-stop platform for system operation. Project executors and contractors can thus effectively complete the delivery and verification of project results.
  • Information Synchronization
The EPAW allows business units to manage their project results independently. Project reports can be made available to the public on the platform by setting a date. Project data can only be accessed with exclusive permission. Business units can decide whether to share the raw data with other MOENV units for viewing and downloading. Once the raw data is shared with the MOENV, other MOENV units can simultaneously access the raw data stored in the system.
  • Quality Data
All project reports shall be reviewed by the Department of Environmental Monitoring and Information Management before the projects can be closed and made public. The EPAW provides a standard template for delivering raw data. Its built-in fool-proof design and quality-check functions assist project implementers in delivering raw data that meet the MOENV quality requirements.
  • Clear Classification
Based on the professional nature of the environmental protection, the characteristics of raw data, and the compilation of project results in the past three years, the EPAW categorizes different project themes and provides a refined raw data template. By providing a common standard format specification, the EPAW enhances the usability of environmental resources.
  • User-friendly System
The EPAW delivers user-friendly experiences. The intuitive user interface and visualized system functions enhance the operation. The command prompt effectively assists users in completing their operations.
  • Centralized Storage
The EPAW provides dedicated storage space for project reports and raw data so that environmental resources are under centralized storage management. This avoids data loss caused by human changes or equipment abnormalities, providing functions such as historical data inquiry and graphic statistical reports for each unit to implement data governance.
